TimeDroid is a simple time tracking application for logging your time to your
FreshBooks account. iPhone users have had an app like this for awhile now, but since some of us here at Appoxy are digging our Android phones better than the iPhone, we thought the world (and us) needed this app.
Grab it while it's hot!
Get TimeDroid Pro on the Android Market or
TimeDroid Free.
Here is a screenshot:
Give it a try, let us know what you think and if you like, be sure to rate it 5 stars. ;)

Hi I agree with your comment on the market but it really would be 5 stars if you could choose to enter the date when you enter the hours. Like I said in the comment if you forget to do it today then tomorrow the only way you can enter time is to go the FB website. That may not be possible so you are left with having to write it down somewhere. Anyway thanks for providing it as it's very useful. All the bets Mike
ReplyDeleteHi Mike, we actually saw your comment about this in the market and have added it to the our list. You should see it in the next release. Thanks for using the app!
ReplyDeleteHi. I would have sent this in your contact us form, but my the submit button says that there is something wrong with that page (and you've been notified), so I'm posting here.
ReplyDeleteI recently downloaded the application and it looks great but I'm having a weird issue: I was able to enter my authentication token and get all of my projects sync'd, but every time I try and log some time I get this error: "Failed to talk with FreshBooks. Please check your account and authentication token."
I am sure it's correct as I wouldn't be able sync the data down, is there something else I need to do?
Thanks for the help and what I'm sure will be a great app (if I can just get this to work).
Jeff.
Hi Jeff,
ReplyDeleteCould you try clicking the "Sync Freshbooks" button in the TimeDroid menu, see if that works? If not, you might want to try entering your API key again.
The Sync Freshbooks button does work. I reset my authentication token, and I have the same error.
ReplyDeleteForget it. I figured it out. Thanks for the help.
ReplyDeleteI cannot find TimeDroid in the market from my G1 - have you excluded it from dev phones?
ReplyDeleteI have the same error that Jeffrey had "Failed to talk with FreshBooks. Please check your account and authentication token." I tried your recommendation (the same you gave it to Jeffrey) but it didn't work. Please could you help...I tried also refreshing the token in my account and re-entering...and the answer is ...it didn't work...Could you help?
ReplyDeleteMine just freezes and force quits all the time on the droid.
ReplyDeleteI really like this application. One suggestion- I have many clients that utilize the same project, ie, "divorce" or "litigation" and it is very hard to distinguish which client is which in the app as it begins with "Projects." Any chance of including the Client list in a future incarnation? That would make things much easier to do.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Hi all,
ReplyDeleteFor those that are having trouble with the API key, just be sure to verify that it's exactly what freshbooks gives you. We have had many people email us about it and it has always been because they didn't get the key right.
William: I think that makes sense, I'll put it on the list to look into.
Thanks for the feedback everyone!
Hi all, we've started a support/discussion group at: http://groups.google.com/group/timedroid
ReplyDeletePlease go there for support instead of emailing us directly.
Thanks for making this! Still testing the app, and I think I have found a bug: When first setting things up you are asked to enter your account name and token. So I slide open my G1 to use the physical keyboard to enter the token. Oops the "OK" and "Cancel" buttons fall off the bottom half of the screen. For some reason I can't scroll down and get em. No problem, I'll just slide the phone shut and ARGH! my username and painstakingly entered key has disappeared. Hmm turns out any time the orientation changes the data disappears. Used the soft keyboard to set up. Every thing else looks super sweet. Smooth out the rough edges and start charging $5-$20 for this app! BTW I use cyanogen mod, so if you can't duplicate the problem maybe it's an issue there ...
ReplyDeletehow do i get it for my german htc desire ?? thank you
ReplyDeleteIt should be available in all locations so if you can't see it, it's due to the Android Market, not us.
ReplyDeleteI also can't find it by searching for timedroid on my HTC Desire. Don't suppose this has anything to do with the version of android on the these phones?
ReplyDeleteShould work on all versions.
ReplyDeleteAnyone had any luck of why it cant be found in the Market place? I really want the Pro version but right now I cant find anything. I looked for "timedroid" and "freshbooks" and they dont find it.
ReplyDelete(HTC EVO 4G)
Are you using a dev phone or running in dev mode or something? I remember someone saying it won't show up if you are.
ReplyDeleteI'm not able to find this app in the Market either, and I ran into this problem with another app I was trying to install. If the developer "copy protected" the app, anyone who has a phone model that Google hasn't "fingerprinted" yet won't be able to see it or install it. With the other app, I mentioned this to the developer, he removed the "copy protection," and then it was visible in the Market.
ReplyDeleteI've looked but I could not find any basic setup instructions in an obvious place. The TimeDroid page has a link to here called Get Started, but no plain and simple instructions.
ReplyDeleteFor anyone who's scratching their head trying to figure out the Authentication Token, here's how:
Log in to your Freshbooks account.
Click on My Account
Click on Freshbooks API
Click on Enable API and your generated API token appears.
You could copy and paste the API token string to an email, or draft, that you send to your Droid. Then on your Droid copy and paste it to the Authentication Token field in the TimeDroid app settings.
Sorry if this has been covered but it's not in an obvious place that I could find.
Travis,
ReplyDeleteAny chance that the "copy protection" can or will be removed from this app so the rest of us can make use of it? (Assuming that that is the issue...)
Thanks,
John
App is now showing in the Market, and I've installed and am trying out the free version. Thanks for making it visible for the rest of us!
ReplyDeleteJohn
Doesn't seem to be showing in Market anymore.
ReplyDeleteI just purchased timedroid for my Droid and put in my firm name as the account name. However when I try to start using software I am unable to enter a new project name to get started. When I press Project it brings up a box for "choose a project" but then I cannot enter a new project name and do not see anywhere or how to do it. I am sure this is a basic question, but I am stymied and do not find any help on the website anywhere. Thanks
ReplyDeleteBill, you have to setup your projects in the Freshbooks interface (under the Time Tracking tab) then TimeDroid will grab those. After you add them to Freshbooks, be sure to open the menu in TimeDroid and resync so it grabs your projects.
ReplyDeletehi...!
ReplyDeleteis ths app for free...?
if not..
how much money did you make from this App...?
There's a free version and a paid version. And we don't publish what we made from it, classified information. ;)
ReplyDeletehey there, thanks for makin' the app, but it's not workin' on my xperia mini pro running android 2.1 -> doesn't show up in android market for me and manual installation doesn't recognize the phone either ~ any change getting it up&running?
ReplyDeletethx
All of a sudden two days ago my TimeDroid stopped syncing with freshbooks. Did not change anything on my api key. reset key. entered new key in time droid no go. uninstalled timedroid and reinstalled and put new key in. no go. verified api key. no go. Help!
ReplyDeleteI'm experiencing the same problem as reported by Dave K. Maybe Freshbooks has changed something with their API? I know there is a big long secure URL to use in conjunction with the token. I even reset my token and tried, no avail. I also tried entering the URL from Freshbooks to try as the account, but that didn't work either. Hope this gets fixed soon. I was really contemplating the Pro version, but I don't want to spend money on it until I know I can connect.
ReplyDeleteHi guys, can you post support issues here http://goo.gl/cAL9m .
ReplyDeleteHello Timedroid,
ReplyDeleteIs it just me our is your Google support page turned off? Anyway I have a project with 25 tasks. I have now added ten more tasks, and Timedroid seems to have an issue syncing them all. Is there a limit to how many tasks it will work with?
The support group is still available: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/timedroid
